In the third quarter of 2022, the top 5 navigation and maps apps on iOS in Latin America demonstrated varied performance trends. Here’s a closer look at the weekly downloads and active users for each app, based on data from Sensor Tower.

Google Maps maintained a strong presence with weekly downloads consistently above 190K, peaking at approximately 238K in late August. Active users fluctuated slightly, remaining around 14.6M to 15.1M throughout the quarter.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic also performed well, with weekly downloads ranging from around 72K to 82K. Active users showed a slight upward trend, starting at 5.9M in late June and peaking at about 6.1M in early September before tapering off to 5.9M by the end of the quarter.

Google Earth experienced steady weekly downloads, hovering around the 22K mark and peaking at nearly 24K in late September. Active users saw minor fluctuations but remained stable between 138K and 147K.

Google Street View had lower download numbers, maintaining a range of 3.4K to 4.2K weekly. Active users were consistently around 4.3K to 5K throughout the quarter.

MAPS.ME: Offline Maps, GPS Nav displayed a notable spike in downloads, reaching about 14.5K in mid-August before stabilizing around 2.6K to 4.4K. Active users also saw a significant increase, peaking at 21.8K in mid-August and then normalizing between 14.1K and 20.3K.
